Xandor Mevelis

Appearance

A figure of brutal contrasts. His left side is human — sharp jaw, amber eye, pallid but bearing a certain dignity. His right side tells a different story: iridescent scales, a lupine jaw, a grafted arm ending in a stitched manticore claw, sutures crossing chest and torso. He wears deep green and gold robes, a gilded half-mask etched with celestial runes that covers the worst of it, and the medallion of the Sacred Flame — a reminder of who he used to be.

Costs & Stakes

Leaving Elyndor's wards risks a relapse into corruption — the chimera body is not stable, and the wards are not a comfort so much as a necessity. His mind is fractured in ways that make him vulnerable even as his knowledge makes him indispensable. Every breakthrough he achieves carries the possibility of saving Astrylis — or dooming it.

Tome I → Tome II Arc

In Tome I Xandor is a necessary recluse, feared and consulted in equal measure, confined within Elyndor's wards. In Tome II he makes the defining choice to leave with Sylra and Grendar, stepping deliberately into redemption or ruin through the dangerous soulbinding ritual — trading safety for purpose.
