Appearance

Standing 4'6" with a broad frame, Grimbol is immediately recognizable by his platinum-streaked beard that reaches his waist. He wears amethyst, ash, and white robes etched with runes, occasionally topped with a wide circular-brim wizard's hat. He carries the Ashlight — a staff of marbled black and white stone, its strata spiraling upward like roots in conflict. At its crown, a smoky crystal veined with shifting colors pulses faintly, as though something within it still breathes. The staff never leaves his side.

Abilities

  • Elemental workings — fire, frost, wind, water, and stone
  • Defensive pulses — energy bursts that repel or stagger attackers
  • Enchanted daggers — flame, frost, thunder, venom, and wind variants
  • Potions and elixirs — vitality, shielding, clarity, and healing formulas
  • The Ashlight — a staff born from ancient ruins, its crown gem amplifies elemental output; the weight it carries is not only arcane

Costs & Stakes

Overcasting blurs his focus and drains him physically — he knows his limits and respects them, which is itself a form of discipline. The Ashlight is not only a tool but a gravestone he carries in his hands every day, forged from a loss that predates his years in the Arcane Order. His greatest fear is watching reckless youth reach for power they do not understand — because he has already seen what that costs.

Tome I → Tome II Arc

In Tome I Grimbol operates as a Council scholar turned reluctant field companion, offering knowledge and hard-earned caution. In Tome II he is pulled further into the action, forced to confront forbidden relics and the darker chapters of his own history that he has long kept buried.
